Gettin’ the 411
u know, i realize that the one piece of information people take
for granted is the email address. dude, there’s like SO much u can do with
it. like, u thought giving out your phone number to some dude is
scary. well, believe me, email addresses are much scarier.
so
think about the stuff u can tell about someone just from their email.
like i got one email from someone i met on the internet recently that
says "katee1003". hmm…what can u gather from this u say? well,
besides her first name, i bet her birthday’s probably 10/03. next, i
plug her email into xanga/friendster/myspace and *BAM*…her
picture shows up! i get all this detailed info about where she’s from,
her photo album, friends, what schools she went to, testimonials, blah
blah. u can even plug her email into google and sometimes, stuff comes
up… man, i’ve turned into a cyberstalker!
its just scary how much power a single email can give a sick perv like m…err…i mean who *thinks* like me. i think giving out
cell phone numbers is probably safer since u can always block their
numbers and they can’t really tell much about u except what area code
you’re in…

nowadays it’s common for one single person to have multiple email accounts. you can always have one email address for close friends only and have (at least)another one for whoever out there. just like some guys/gals who keep two cellphones - one well known for friends and significant others and another one for secret lovers. while there are lots of stalkers out there, there are also ways to avoid them. just need to put in a little bit more wit.
