Open Doors
ok, so i got into this semi-heated discussion with my friend about guys and opening doors. she thinks guys should *always*
open doors for girls cuz they’re guys and they’re suppose to be gentlemen-like.
but i think…well, u got arms…open it ur dam self! haha
jk. but seriously…i think it’s kinda lame to expect guys to
open doors for girls *all* the time. it’s kinda like buying a
girl flowers…if u buy it all the time, it’s kinda becomes an
obligation vs. doing something special. so the day u dont give
her flowers, she’ll be thinking…is he breaking up with me?
ok, so that was an extreme example but i think its still somewhat
true. on a first date, u should definitely give a good impression
and open the door for the lady or push her seat in at the dinner
table. but after u guys are together, drop the charades
man…she’ll see thru u like a cop thru tinted windows…err…or
is it the one-ring thru frodo. ya, whatever…u know what i mean.

I wouldn’t go out with a guy who did that.

I’ve been wanting to express my opinion about this matter for some time now. Freedom of speech can be dangerous at times. However, I am willing to risk it. The term: “Gentlemen-like” is pure sexist. Let’s cross examine so the ladies get the point. Ladies: don’t you find “lady-like” a little sexist?
I open doors for my girlfriend bec I’m crazy about her. See, if we get into an argument (which we seldom do) I don’t know if I’ll open her door. Come to think of it, when she drives, she doesn’t open my door *thinking real deep” so I think if the ladies believe every door should be opened for them, they should give us the same courtesy. I mean let’s face it, this isn’t the 50s …it’s passed the millenium and sexism should be destroyed. Ladies … please snap out of this princess disease/mentality, the time has passed and it’s you who needs to change. Not us.
